These are difficult times. A global pandemic is spreading across the globe and governments are forced to take ever more drastic measure to curtail the spread. There are a lot of unknowns and insecurity about the virus but what almost unanimously agreed is that technology will play a key role in protection, mitigation and prevention. One of those technologies that may be unbeknownst to most contribute is Nano-coating. Europlasma’s patented array of thin flexible, invisible and environmentally friendly nano-coatings are a key component of many virus fighting measures. Our oleophobic coatings can be found in face masks and other protective non-woven textiles where they help to achieve the high filter efficiency that is needed to capture the smallest particles, including viruses. Similarly these coatings are used in air filtration. Think hereby at the filtration of hospitals, clean rooms, high-rise buildings or cruise ships. Next to these applications our coatings on 3d objects can make them highly water and oil repellent, which has a proven antibacterial and antiviral effect. Europlasma’s hydrophilic coating are used on many types of culture plates and other laboratory equipment that are used (among many other things) for Covid-19 detection tests. And last but not least our low pressure plasma activation is used in a wide variety of medical equipment for bonding, gluing, printing etc. All these together are only a small contribution that we are non the less very proud of. The majority of the efforts are done by the thousands of nurses, doctors, carers and others whose tireless efforts are keeping us all as safe as possible
